Our story
Our Family Voices was created from a simple but powerful realization: the stories we most want to remember are often the ones we never captured.
Family history is typically preserved through photographs, documents, and second-hand retellings. What's often missing is the voice itself — the cadence, humor, pauses, and personality that make a memory feel alive. We built Our Family Voices to preserve those details before they fade.
Our approach is intentionally simple. Through gentle, human-centered prompts, we invite people to speak naturally, without pressure or performance. There's no expectation of polish — just an easy, meaningful way to share stories in your own time.
The result is a private, audio-first family archive that can be returned to again and again. It preserves not just what happened, but how it felt — and how it sounded — to live it.

Jim Maglione
Co-Founder
Jim Maglione is a digital media and technology entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience building platforms that connect people to the places, experiences, and communities they care about.
Throughout his career, Jim has led large content and technology teams focused on engagement, community, and human-centered design. With Our Family Voices, he brings that experience into a deeply personal mission: creating a simple, lasting way for families to preserve the voices and memories that matter most.
Ren Suarez
Co-Founder & CTO
Ren Suarez is a seasoned web developer and product technologist with more than 15 years of experience building reliable, scalable web applications.
He brings deep expertise in PHP and has worked extensively across multiple web technologies including JavaScript frameworks, jQuery, Bootstrap, MongoDB, and Node.js, along with a broad range of supporting tools and systems. His background spans both front-end and back-end development, giving him a holistic view of how products are built, maintained, and scaled over time.
As Co-Founder and CTO of Our Family Voices, he leads product development, engineering, and infrastructure. His focus is on building technology that feels intuitive and unobtrusive — ensuring the platform is easy to use, secure, and durable, so families can focus on what matters most: sharing and preserving their stories.
